MEGA Bead Filters are also sold under the "PRO-Line Professional Bead Filter" brand.

The Mega Bead Filters have a high intake capacity and are equiped with a double fan with curved blades, this results in better distribution and circulation of the water.

Thanks to the larger beads, the system experiences less resistance during backwashing. This makes it possible to use a second pump with a lower capacity, substantially reducing the power consumption.

The water flows into the filter as a result of pressure
from a pump. Thanks to the unique design of the
inlet, the water starts to spin which causes large dirt
particles to be sucked toward the centre of the filter
and then drained off. The small dirt particles and bacteria
are caught by the beads, and the purified water
then flows back into the pond via the 6-way valve.
The bead filter is cleaned using a strong blower which
blows air through the filter. This causes the dirt to be
‘rinsed off’ of the beads while retaining the biofilm
layer. The filter only has to be cleaned once every
couple of weeks, which is now a quick and easy task.

Pumps for the PRO LINE Bead Filter

The Ideal pumping solution would be to use a sigle pump for operating the filter and for back washing (cleaning) the filter

For the Proline 65 The Megapump SB010 is recommended which delivers 4100gph @ 4m head. Power Consumption is 0.75kW (up to £2.50/day if running at full power, assuming electricity is costing you 14p/kWhour).

For the Proline 80 The Megapump SB020 is recommended which delivers 6600gph @ 4m head. Power Consumption is 1.5kW(up to £5.00/day if running at full power, assuming electricity is costing you 14p/kWhour).

For the average budget this is far to expensive. Since most of the power is consumed whilst cleaning.

This is a considerable ammount of power to be kept running day and night

Therefore a dual pump solution is suggested.

For continious running i.e Filtering

For the Proline 65 The Megapump SC050 is recommended which delivers 2850gph @ 4m head. Power Consumption is 0..37kW (up to £1.25/day if running at full power, assuming electricity is costing you 14p/kWhour).

Forr the Proline 80 The Megapump SC075 is recommended which delivers 3500gph @ 4m head. Power Consumption is .56kW(up to £1.80/day if running at full power, assuming electricity is costing you 14p/kWhour).

For Backwashing i.e Cleaning

To suppliment these pumps for back flushing 2 identical pumps are installed one running all the time the other switched on for cleaning only. Thus running costs are dramatically reduced.
